myLegend: leino interview

leino, how are you?
The same as ever, nothing exciting ^^, how are you?

I'm sick, just bought a new 2006 Gibson J45 Sunburst signed by Tenacious D, sick gamer. Hows the girlfriend?
Tight
Only because your penis is small

Considering the population of Belgium is about 4, are you not worried she might be your sister?
Who cares, incest is trendy in Belgium.

To the UK / rest of the world Belgium barely exists in gaming, tell me more about your team, who are these people?
Okay,

- belgium.gif Nergal, who has been in team Belgium multiple times and is currently nations captain. He is basically the most experienced player (together with Fasty), he has done several Eurocups in both source as in SOF2. He's the one who tries to guide the team and make sure we don't kill each other after every loss. He'll also be the one who'll tell me I should've answered this interview more professionaly. We (being me and corrupt) sometimes refer to him as "the team-daddy" whenever he gives us another preach.

- belgium.gif Corrupt, he's basically the crazy guy in the team, both in-game as in real life ( on our last LAN he ran around the LAN party wearing a g-string and having 2 shrimps up his nose). He's the one with the aim as well, the one who does the "OMFG WTF DID I HIT THAT" shots.

- belgium.gif MinM, our main AWPer, also an experienced player, played for levitation back in the days. A very calm player with a very peculiar way of clutching.

- belgium.gif QsT, often refered to as one of the big talents in Belgium, only 16 years old and he manages his AWP like he's been doing it forever. A very agressive player, important to take early picks in the rounds.

- uk.gif Fasty, everybody knows him in the UK scene, old Zboard captain, uQ player and so on.

- Myself, well I'm not going to say a lot about myself since I think that should be up to others. I played in the Dutch/UK and now Belgian scene and thus had a lot of different influences in my way of playing.
I've been in a team with leino, just so everyone knows he broke up with his girlfriend on two separate occasions because we lost a few games. Biggest emo ever, but still one of my favourite people online.

Without sounding conceited, are you the best team in Belgium?
Previously that position belonged to ouN-gaming, but since they don't have a full Belgian line-up anymore they can't really claim that spot anymore. So to answer your question: On LAN yes, online it might turn out differently. There are others who will claim differently, but that is there right, just as it is my right to say that I think we currently hold the #1 spot in Belgium.

Why in an all Belgian lineup is Fasty in the team?
Fasty used to be in levitation with QsT, Nergal and MinM for quite a while and this team could use his experience so Nergal contacted Fasty, and he happily agreed with Nergals offer.

How do Belgians survive when all you have to eat are potatoes and your country is littered with bombs and mines from WWI and WII?
Potatoes are very nutritious! And we also eat large quantities of chocolate. For the bombs... "buy defusekit" in console.

How do you rate the Belgian scene?
Most teams are quite evenly matched at the moment, which causes a lot of interesting games. Overtimes are no exception in Belgium. I'm not claiming that it is one of the best scenes in Europe, but I do think it gets a bit underrated at times.

What's the Belgian LAN scene like?
It's decent, better as the Dutch at the moment. We've got several big events like Ordened Computer Chaos (OCC) and Frag-O-Matic (FOM) with decent price purses and smaller LANs can be found all year around.

What free shit do you get from myLegend?
What I can tell you is that they basically supply us with everything a team might need. So we have been quite lucky that they noticed us.
Free bitches at LAN, yeah yeah

Are you attending i33?
It's very likely that we will.

How do you think you'll do?
That'll depend on our preparation, but if we go I'm sure we'll go well prepared.
So badly lol

Any shout outs?
First of all to you mate, thank you for the interview and the occasional random chat on MSN whenever one of us is bored. I'd also like to thank the guys at myLegend for taking us aboard, and basically thanks to everyone who has responded positively to us.

So the stage is set for a Belgian invasion, only time will tell if these potato-constipated war-inducing people will step up to the plate and put Belgian gaming on the map. I for one hope not, because I'm a bastard. Yeah yeah.

Nice to see a foreign import going to the i-series, obviously the prize purse/TUP setup has raised the profiles for EU teams to come over.

Nice i-view, i love the comments LOL!

So wait a minute, ouN can't be the best team in Belgium because they don't have a full Belgian line-up. But myLegend can, even though you have a UK player?

Interesting.

Interesting.

Ye, I know what you mean, but the difference is that we still got 5 belgian in the team and are still eligible ( spelling ? ) to be chosen as belgiums eurocup team for example. The lan team excists out of the 5 belgians aswell for example ( might be different on i33 tho )

Thanks for the good replies otherwise
