A moment of clarity in the mad world of css.

The other day I spent doing my good deeds like a good boy scout. (I became one when I ate my first brownie). My deed was to teach someone utterly new to gaming how to play css to some degree. I underestimated how hard this task was, and how rewarding it would be at the same time.
After running my friend through a map with bots. First one on one, then two on two with one bot helping. I slowly got them used to the controls, realise this person does not play computer games at all. Their highest accolade gaming wise would be how many times they completed solitaire. So when I felt they were comfortable running around dust2 with bots, I coaxed them like a frightened animal onto a public.

To avoid them getting tagged a noob right away, I played a few rounds to get them some score, so at worst they'd seem a bit humdrum. I'd picked the easiest public I knew, and like the parent of some bastardised offspring, I watched my lil padawan go out unto the public....

...15 rounds later I was watching through a gap in my fingers, chewing my lip, my knee curled into my chest, tears streaming down my face. On my steamid, as this person blocked, tk'd, team flashbanged (we hadn't got into grenades yet), missed ppl pointblank who were facing the other way, missed whole groups of ppl facing the other way, got lost, got stuck on low walls, panicked, got flashed and couldn't seem to work out they were stuck facing a wall.

15 rounds and on top of all this, not one kill.

Most of the time, with all that panic spray, at least one person dies, from sheer random, but oh no. Finally, the frustration got to my friend, when on the 16th round, they were foiled in their rush towards Long A by a barrel in the doorway. My cries of how to jump over it fell on deaf ears. Going back obviously felt like failure. So in some kind of raged frustration, my friend expressed it in the only fashion they knew how, they fired their deagle (the only weapon they could afford that round) at the gap in the doors, all 7 bullets, 1 2 3 4 5 6.....at this point the obviously bored and confused CT thought it would be a good time to rush. The bullet popped him in the head quite amusingly. Last one of the clip. The player quit immediately.

So did my friend.

I fell off my seat laughing.

It was nice to see that from a different point of view.

Not being able to play CS at uni is gay, here's how I've got them to begin unblocking.
