Fnatic Go Pro
Posted by Penguin on Tuesday, 06 November 2007, 19:57
It was announced today that fnatic's Source team have now become professional gamers and will now earn salaries. They join three other fnatic teams: 1.6, Quakee4 and WoW. The news comes after many months of fnatic being (almost) unbeatable in every LAN they have attended. AirRaid had this to say:
We are extremely happy to be in Fnatic Professional now, with the upgraded support we can focus on just playing Counter-Strike: Source even more to try and keep dominating the European elite scene, like we have been doing the last months.
The fnatic.CSS lineup is, as ever: dutch.gif Blaze, dutch.gif proph, dutch.gif darky, dutch.gif AirRaid, and dutch.gif xertion. Congratulations to the team and the organisation from all here at SourceJunky!

Hate to be a party pooper but this looks to me like the only reason they have been given "pro status" is so they are tied to a contract and cannot go for CGS draft next year...

Fnatic have just cut their wc3 team who were also professional gamers and have been for as long as i can remember.

Maybe with them freeing up the money they had invested in that game allowed them to support css a lot more. Afterall their wc3 team were on a massive downhill slump punching way way below the weight they shoulda been.

Its seams only right to reward the successfull teams in the organisation.

cant blame them, imho their wc3 team wasnt quite as up there with NiP/4k/W.E as their css is, so i guess its a wise enough move
