Sam “RattlesnK” Gawn is a member of Birmingham Salvo’s Counter Strike:
Source team , and like many CS:S players, his routes as a gamer stem
from casually playing CS: 1.6 with friends.
Sam’s first success as a gamer came about after he founded Goldbrick, a
team that would go on to defeat 4kings, the UKs top CS: 1.6 team. From
there he and his team were offered an opportunity to take their careers
to the next level by joining up with Team Dignitas, an organization
formerly headed by Salvo GM Michael O’Dell.
Under the banner of Dignitas, Sam traveled the world with his team,
doing very well in several events and earned the title as the top team
in United Kingdom. Once CGS was announced the team decided to take a
deep breath and launch themselves into a world of Counter Strike:
Source. After some early difficulties the team dominated the Live
Qualifiers and became reunited with their former manager at their new
home, the Birmingham Salvo.

The top Polish Counter-Strike: Source teamknown as Vision Of Excellence (VOE) earlier this week
announced that they would be signing a new player. Now that player has
been revealed, it is none other than German Philipp "osirisbash"
Kaczmarczyk. Philipp has played for top European teams such as mTw.PokerRoom, SPEED-LINK.css and the Polish National Team.
Philipp is a great addition to the VOE roster and I’m sure he’ll enjoy
his time with VOE.
Vision Of Excellence Roster:
Michał "chillside" Żywult
Daniel "myth" Bukalski
Przemek "NEGRO" Ciborek
Philipp "osirisbash" Kaczmarczyk
Hubert "exile" Gawroński
Mariusz "Loled" Kerl
Also,
along with a new player VOE have also announced the release of their
long awaited website, and I must say, it’s looking god damn fine! So
please take ten minuets to register and have a browse around. Soon,
they will be taking on News Posters and more Website Staff, and more
articles and things of that sort will be available to the public.
Check out the brand new Vision Of Excellence website - http://www.team-voe.com

Multiplay have annouced that players can now turn up and play for the Source (and ET:QW) tournaments at i32. The TUP ticket costs £30 for the weekend, and entitles you to play on a top of the range Packard Bell machine for tournaments, tournament entry, a spectator pass for the whole weekend AND free camping! It's the first time this has been offered to games outside of the WCG tournament as well. For me details: click here .

CSPromod, like TF2, will no longer top the vapourware list as of 17:00 BST (18:00 CET) tonight!
We're so happy to finally be releasing CSP to the public. We hope you all enjoy it. Remember, EVERYTHING ABOUT THE GAME CAN BE TWEAKED AND CHANGED; PLEASE TAKE THE TIME READ THE README FILE, AS IT INCLUDES EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW. We'll soon be moving to CSPromod.com version 2, which will allow bug reporting and community votes, among other things. For now, use the forums to provide us with feedback...
They also add that other mirrors are not allowed, and that their North American and European hosting providers apparently have enough bandwidth in order to serve every single download from around the world.
