SJ Rifle Cup 1st Night
Posted by Bub on Thursday, 04 October 2007, 22:47
Tonight saw us go from 256 players to 128. The bracket is HERE
Thanks to everybody that turned up and played. Over the next week we'll be checking steamids and EDAC against the log we created via hlsw so you may see some changes to the bracket as we go through and catch people out.

Thanks to www.RTL-servers.co.uk and www.monkeyware.co.uk for their support.

Apologies to anybody kept around waiting because of no-shows, see you all next week to get down to 1 player from 128!

mdt played twice aswell!
Bub Fri, 05 October 2007 - 12:25:04
I had already put _jon through as a default win due to a no-show on the first night. I believe jon and mdt played a game which they thought was the tournament match but it wasn't as i'd already given jon the win so even if mdt had of won it wouldn't have counted. Because of that I let mdt play in another game as the first he didn't have any chance whatsoever to progress.
MDT Fri, 05 October 2007 - 23:31:19
I was on the server waiting for my game, and then for some reason _jon joined saying he had a game now, so I was just about to leave until rcon said "mdt play this game, I'll get a replacement for your game now." But he didn't seem to get a fill in due to myself playing Crokey the next day (Date was changed due to Steam Errors), lol... let's hope it's all fixed now?
MDT Fri, 05 October 2007 - 23:31:43
I'm hardcore Ben
Boffy Fri, 05 October 2007 - 02:04:12
So, I get a default then? Since jamess isn't playing?

ps: Nice servers Lee, thanks for the sponsored event.

pss: Well done tonight Bub and Pyrate...fantastic organisation!
lmighty Fri, 05 October 2007 - 08:31:07
I think that's another jamess you're playing, not sure

And yes, bub and pyrate did well
Nitr0us Pyrate Fri, 05 October 2007 - 06:32:36
Thanks boffy, it's nice to know someone appreciates the effort that goes into these things.

Running 12 servers for 4 hours is not easy.

Nice one to everyone who took part, and the replacements that stepped in at the last minute, you all made it a good event. Good luck to everyone still in the competition and I look forward to watching some games on wednesday!
!ynot Fri, 05 October 2007 - 08:08:13
Nice One guys really well organized, top work ;D all the games on time with all those changes made also WP!

You guys need to organize the olympics or something ;D
CreativE Fri, 05 October 2007 - 08:46:22
Sorry about my no show, I was around Wednesday for the Steam fiasco but got a call to go out at 6.45pm last night. A shame as I was looking forward to proph handing me my ass.

Good luck to the remaining peeps
masterplan87 Fri, 05 October 2007 - 08:56:15
Like CreativE, really apologise for not being able to show up, circumstances worked against me im afraid.

Keep up the good work with the cup though, the effort that goes in to keep it all going smoothly is immense
ZippoFlame Fri, 05 October 2007 - 10:27:33
Well run as always! Shame about the steam dropouts bring back won!
psx Fri, 05 October 2007 - 13:24:09
hmm, is it just me or will there be 32 players in the 4th round, and after that 28 players in the 5th, 24 in the 6th etc, that cant be right, fix it :]
CreativE Fri, 05 October 2007 - 14:53:18
Indeed, there's too many boxes for Round 5 to Round 8.

There should only be 9 rounds in total by my reckoning
Bub Fri, 05 October 2007 - 15:08:46
I cocked the excel file up when i was tired, altering it now
j4y Fri, 05 October 2007 - 13:26:57
wasn't me who got banned so you're still playing me Boffy.
blackbird Fri, 05 October 2007 - 15:42:39
How come hozay played 2 games - beaten by beatz at 21.05 then beat r at 22.45?

or is that a mistake :S
Bub Fri, 05 October 2007 - 15:58:00
Certain players that missed their slot were given the chance to play a later fixture as a replacement if there were no other replacements around.

I believe that is the case with hozay but will look into it.
Thanks for pointing it out. It can be very hectic keeping track of 256 player names with no-shows, replacements etc going on all night.
